Elizabeth Hurley Beach at Bicester Village

April 15th, 2010 by Stacey Waterman

Last year Elizabeth Hurley opened her very first standalone boutique in the world. A pop up boutique at Bicester Village with a beachwear collection that was so fabulous and flattering, it saw me through quite a few summer and winter sunshine escapes.

Just in time for the summer, (and almost enough time to get bikini body beautiful), Bicester Village once again is home to Elizabeth Hurley Beach.

The 2010 beachwear collection is exciting, using intricate embroidery and embellishments on bright prints. If you need an excuse to get down to the gym and shape up, this fabulous range of bikinis, kaftans and accessories should be enough of an inspiration. There is also a wonderful range of beachwear for kids, some glorious sunhats, stylish sunglasses and resort jewellery. I particularly love the scented candles.

If you happen to be in Europe and in need of a new bikini, Elizabeth Hurley Beach is also available this year at Kildare Village near Dublin and Ingolstadt Village, Munich and will be opening in May at La Roca Village, Barcelona.

Summer Arrival: La Perla’s boutique opens for imaginative souls

The La Perla boutique (below), our latest addition, opened the week I returned from La Biennale di Venezia (above).  Venice’s renowned international art exhibition — 77 countries in their own pavillions & 99 independent artists — quenched my thirst for all things artistic. The experience has stimulated my creative glands. I now see my own workplace as an art exhibition in retail fashion.

La Perla’s lingerie, intimates, beachwear, and accessories come in a plethora of colours, textures, and fabrics.  Its presentation resembles that of an innovative art gallery, revealing creative designs that suit the practical desires of the busy modern woman. For example, a matching stretch lace set — a La Perla classic from the 70s — offers both ease and self-assurance of movement while preserving its sensual and artistic flavour.

This multi-faceted description merely scratches the surface to understanding the inner thoughts of the modern woman. The Denmark and the Nordic Countries Pavillions at the Biennale (above) expose the family dramas that happen behind closed doors to fictional inhabitants in the Ingmar Bergman-style household. In this instance, 21st-century intimates and its undisclosed domestic politics assume another level of significance.

Thus, it emerges: Clothing — or in this case, the lack thereof — generates more stories than one would expect.

The La Perla boutique at Bicester Village offers discounts up to 70% off the recommended retail price. Items range from Bras (£109 reduced to £32.50) to Knickers (£70 reduced to £21) to Bikini top & bottom (£168 reduced now to £63) .

Elizabeth Hurley comes to Bicester Village

Liz Hurley

Yes, the Elizabeth Hurley will be coming to Bicester Village this Thursday 2 April from 12-2pm, to unveil her new store, the Elizabeth Hurley Beach Boutique.

The thought of wearing a bikini and sarong at this time of the year brings me shivers, but I’ll sunbathe with polar bears in the Arctic if I had a chance to see Elizabeth Hurley in person. The British model and actress is the face of Estée Lauder and is best remembered as the lovely Vanessa Kensington in Mike Myers’s Austin Powers series. Her beach hut sells women and children’s beachwear, ranging from swimsuits to bikinis to sarongs.

She promises to be in her beach hut from 12-2pm to help you choose your holiday wardrobe. Liz Hurley and I shopping together – perfect for the next cover of Hello!
