Skin-logic: Sun Worshippers’ Guide to Protecting Flawless Skin

Glorious Hawaiian weather brought sun worshippers outdoors this weekend. I wore a Karen Millen strapless cotton print dress with Fat Face Egyptian sandals to Regent’s Park. I then slipped into an All Saints halter print dress with French Connection wedges for a BBQ in Chelsea.

With so much skin exposure under direct sunlight, I was aware that sun protection — sunscreen with at least SPF 30 — was a must. Sunscreen itself won’t protect your body’s largest organ and keep your skin looking fresh and flawless. I also had to polish my Gucci sunglasses from David Clulow (£119 reduced from £179) and remove the tag from my new oversized floppy hat from Accessorize (£5.40 reduced from £18).

Lucky for us, looking effortless chic and staying away from sun damage are not mutually exclusive. For hair-obsessed fashionistas, a parasol from Radley is a great alternative to the hat (£14 reduced from £30).  Stay sun-safe!

Spring Fling: 3 steps to finding impulsive and passionate romance

1. Listen to your imagination.

Do not limit yourself to love stereotypes. The sensual, mysterious, and penniless painter exists in movies. Real life men come in all different backgrounds and emotional capacities. Just as we don’t neatly fit into a SATC character, men are also equally complex and varied.

2. You can have it all.

You can be sensible and searching for a respectable young man. That doesn’t preclude you – a sensible gal – from partaking in an emotionally uninhibited and tantalising romance with that “respectable guy”.

3. Chemistry: You attract a mate who shares your level of happiness.

Connections are not formed on superficial levels – looks, hobbies, age – but are actually formed on level of happiness. Opposite attracts: although their interests and personalities are diametrically opposite, their level of happiness are similar.

Would you approach the grumpy-looking guy sitting in the corner? Unless you are equally distressed, I would think not.  Now, go on, and unleash your impulsive, spontaneous, and passionate, romantic self!

So, put on a coral skirt from Karen Millen (£19.95 reduced from £120) and matching top from Valentino (Up to 50% off everything in store, new spring and summer arrivals), strappy sandals from Clarks (£19, 3 for 2 on women’s footwear), and a flirty hat from Accessorize (£5.40 reduced from £18).
