Be still my beating heart. Bulgari, the most distinctive luxury brand in the entire world (they have 230 retail locations worldwide!!) has introduced a Bulgari Pop Up boutique at Bicester Village.

Bulgari cocktail rings
Since 1884, Bulgari has been synonymous with Italian jewellery and I am already lusting over their instantly recognizable designs and keen to own just one stunning piece. Of course I will ensure that the unique serial number they discreetly imprinted into the design is on view for the whole world to see. Heaven forbid someone would think I had an imitation!
I have my eye on one of these chic and understated Bulgari cocktail rings, and am already wondering how to explain this potential purchase to my very nice bank manager.
Thankfully Bulgari is now an affordable luxury
The Bicester Village Pop Up boutique is their only UK outlet and a treasure trove of watches, handbags, jewellery and accessories that are begging to be discovered. Beautiful necklaces, rings and scarves are tempting me, and will tempt you to, so here’s an insiders tip… Bulgari are offering an extra 10% off for the week of the 20th July. This offer is only available to Bicester Village members and Bicester Village Facebook fans. Don’t delay; sign up to both today to print off the voucher!
Bulgari Heritage = Inimitable Glamour
Any discerning stylista knows that the timeless Italian creations of Bulgari are the most covetable gems, often fought over by Hollywood A-listers at red carpet events. At this year’s Baftas, Vogue reported how Kate Hudson glimmered in yellow gold, diamond and emerald earrings from Bulgari’s High Jewellery collection and a vintage Bulgari white gold and diamond art deco bracelet. Lucky lucky Kate. Similar items gracefully adorned the likes of Jessica Alba, Ginnifer Goodwin, Chloe Sevigny and Selma Blair when they recently attended the first retrospective of the Bulgari “Between History and Eternity: 1884-2009″ in Rome to mark Bulgari’s 125th anniversary.
“The only word in Italian that Liz knows is Bulgari”
The exhibition at the Palazzo Esposizioni in Rome runs until 13 September and showcases over 500 Bulgari jewels including the diamond and emerald brooch Burton gave Taylor on their first engagement. I read in the New York Times that Richard Burton once said of his then wife Elizabeth Taylor, “The only word in Italian that Liz knows is Bulgari”. I am now of the opinion that every girl should have a Richard Burton in their life, and every girl should, if possible, take a trip to Rome this summer just to see these elegant masterpieces on display.
From Rome to Milan
It’s also worth noting that Bulgari, like many other luxury brands, has ventured into the world of luxury hotels. If you do get to Italy this summer, you could stay at the Bulgari Hotel in Milan or at least take a sneak peek and indulge in a spa treatment or an early evening cocktail. Mr. & Mrs. Smith, the gurus of boutique luxury hotels, has some great luxury escapes to the Bulgari Hotel and don’t forget to check out Fidenza Village just outside Milan. Like Bicester Village, it is one of the nine Chic Outlet Shopping® Villages in Europe and also has boutiques from Furla, Pal Zileri, Versace and Valentino and has Missoni, Trussardi Jeans and Pinko. Not to be missed!
Happy Shopping.
