Our team joined in on the Chinese New Year celebrations in London’s Chinatown on 1st February. The Chinese New Year festival, which began on 26 January, marked the first day of the year in the Chinese lunar calendar.
Bright red lanterns were draped in and around Gerrard Street; lions were dancing to the rhythm of drums and to the sparks of firecrackers.
In total, we welcomed 75 Chinese tour groups at Bicester Village during the holiday break. There was such a buzz in the air, and both locals and visitors were having a great time. We wished each other “Gong Xi Fa Cai”, which translates to “Best wishes for a prosperous year” and is the traditional Chinese greeting for the New Year.
